Flat Feet in Children are relatively common and typically don’t require surgery to correct. Children often experience pain and discomfort when exercising and playing on flat feet and this may cause pain and issues to develop in their feet, back, and knees. Typically flat feet in children can be corrected through a combination of stretching exercises, custom orthotics, and shoe modification.

If the flat feet are caused by a severe collapse, surgical correction may be needed with the use of a simple implant procedure to rebuild the arch. The heel bone may be repositioned or lengthened to create the arch, and the calf tendon may be lengthened.
